For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD
Proverbs 1:29 KJV
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 KJV
Our first scriptural reference, just like yesterday, continues on a similar theme of flipping the attitude of a fool to infer the attitude of the wise. If a fool chooses not to fear the Lord, an attitude of the wise is “to choose to fear the Lord”.
🎯 Notice it is a choice, meaning there are other options.
Our second scriptural reference clarifies that the fear of the Lord is where wisdom starts!
Vine’s define fear as “reverence” of God. The dictionary defines reverence as “deep respect for someone or something”
Per time and per situation, we’ll continually be faced with choices where it’ll be up to us to make those that show if we have a deep respect for God, which shows we are exhibiting an attitude of the wise, or the opposite 😅
What is one area in your life where you feel you can be more intentional about the fear of the LORD? 🤔
Father, we receive grace to indeed be individuals that thoroughly reverence You in ALL in Jesus name, amen 🙏
