Don’t ever think that you are wise enough, but respect the LORD and stay away from evil.
Proverbs 3:7 CEV

The danger of attainment is complacency!

We started this series highlighting how Proverbs provides us keys to be trained in wisdom, but there always comes a danger that we might really think we’re all it when we’ve achieved some “wisdom status”. That is what today’s verse warns as against.

It very closely links to the last two posts, which remind us of the wise attitudes of having a deep respect for God and recognising Him as the source. When we always bear this in heart, we guard against the danger of “being wise in our own eyes” KJV.

You may think you are on the right road and still end up dead.
Proverbs 14:12; 16:25 CEV

What checks would you put to guard against self-sufficiency? 🤔
