Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Proverbs 9:8 KJV
To rebuke means to correct. Correction implies there might be deviation from an ideal path and correction is the means to return to the ideal.
Sometimes, rebuke hurts 😕 It can bruise our ego, reveal our ignorance or more. Recall from yesterday how much an attitude of the wise is not to think they’re wise enough? The ability to be receptive to rebuke or otherwise is a way that can be revealed.
We might always be able to control the way rebuke is directed at us, but we can ask God for grace to recognise it and make the necessary adjustments.
Remember, we’re all a work in progress. And when as the wise, it’s your turn to rebuke, don’t do it in a tone you wouldn’t want done to you 😅
Correct with love and grace; receive correction with love and grace 💕
