Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast CREATED ALL THINGS, and for thy PLEASURE they are and were created.
Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to HIS GOOD PLEASURE which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: (Emphasis mine)
You may ask, isn’t God mean to have made man for His own pleasure, when in His foreknowledge He knew man would sin and many will go to hell as a result? Isn’t God wicked?
GOD IS NOT WICKED; GOD IS LOVE!! (1 John 4:8; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
First of all, hell was never made for man but for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41).
The default sinful nature man acquires on entry into this world makes hell his default destination upon death (Romans 5:12), except a deliberate choice has been made for heaven whilst alive, of which JESUS CHRIST is the ONLY route there (John 14:6).
Excerpts about hell from the book “The Father and His Family” by E W Kenyon:
“Man does not go to hell because of what he has done, but because of what he is. Man goes to Hell on purely intellectual grounds; he can evade it if he wishes.” p82
“Hell is the jail where the wicked are locked up when under indictment until the court sits and their sentences are passed on them; then they go into what is called in Revelation the Lake of Fire, the Gehenna of the New Testament. The lake of Fire is the Federal Prison of Eternity; Hell is simply the County Jail.” p73
We do things at times because we delight in them and they brings us pleasure. We all enjoy giving ourselves a treat, don’t we?
GOD MADE YOU TO GIVE HIMSELF A TREAT, THINK ABOUT THAT! ☺
Suppose one buys a car for his/her own pleasure, was it bought with the intention to crash? NO! But does it crash? Yes, when not subjected to optimal conditions it’s meant to operate in. Conditions like reckless driving on the part of the driver or another on the same road, poor weather conditions, a manufacturing defect etc., could lead to a car accident.
What happens when a car crashes and the crash isn’t fatal, it gets fixed by either a mechanic or the manufacturer. God came Himself in the person of Jesus Christ to fix the crash Adam (the first man) subjected mankind to by sinning in the Garden of Eden.
Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
What if the car crashes and is written off because it is beyond repair? There is no hope for using that car again.
There is no hope for those who die without knowing Jesus. They’ve subjected themselves to conditions their creator God did not want them to, and are condemned to hell.
Just as a car manufacturer makes provision for a manual in the car or tips about the model on websites and forums, our creator God has made His WORD available to us in the BIBLE, the manual of life. He also brings His people our way in person or by other means (sermons on tapes, podcasts, books, websites, forums, blogs, leaflets, tracks etc.) to help our understanding of the contents of the manual of life, the BIBLE, which enables us put God as the centrepiece that holds our life together.
If we heed His instructions (a manufacturer knows his product after all), our lives would not be wrecked by others or ourselves and better still, we get to spend eternity with our Father God in heaven (what loving Father wants to live away from His children?). Would a sane car owner keep subjecting his/her car to conditions unsuitable for the car? Of course not! But that is what we do when we live our lives solely for our own pleasure, without heeding the instructions our manufacturer has provided us with.
We are made for God’s own pleasure and until we come to the realise this truth, a whole lot of things about our lives would not make sense, as you have probably discovered by now.
Would you make JESUS your Lord and Saviour today, and choose to live for God’s good pleasure?
“Then while it is [still] called Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion [in the desert, when the people provoked and irritated and embittered God against them].” Hebrews 3:15 (AMP)
”Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20
“ For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
8 “But what does it say? The Word (God’s message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach,
9 Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.
11 The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.” Romans 10:8-11 (AMP)
GOD BLESS YOU ☺
