John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Last July, PneumaWord threw a Bible reading challenge which examined the Purpose of Jesus under two broad themes: (i) What He said about His coming to earth (ii) What others said about Him. Find out more about that challenge here and the blog post birthed out of that. This June (2015), PneumaWord is throwing another bible reading challenge to go through the Gospels in a Month, exploring THE WORKS OF JESUS. If according to our Bible text above we as Jesus’ disciples are going to do the works He did and even greater, we should for starters know what He did. The scriptures below give examples of some of His works (teaching, preaching and healing), what this challenge seeks to highlight:

 Matthew 4:23 KJV
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Luke 8:1 KJV
And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him

Your turn to find the rest 😉

Attached to this post is a timetable showing how we plan to go about this challenge, which would have us read each gospel in a week except for the book of Luke which takes up nine days in total. Please start off this challenge with prayer and an open heart, pleading the blood of Jesus to silence every contrary voice of the enemy and for access to God’s throne, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of the Word to you. Also bear in mind that Jesus expects we His body, to do His works and even greater, so begin to seek God about ways He’ll have you do these and it’ll blow your mind what God can use a ‘mere you’ to do. You can follow PneumaWord on Twitter and Facebook for daily reminders, comments or questions. We’ll use the hashtag #GospelsinJune2015 and #TheWorksOfJesus on those platforms, please keep an eye out for them, or you could make use of them as well. Feel free to share and invite others to join in this adventure of finding out THE WORKS OF JESUS!

God bless you 🙂
