“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” JESUS in John 14:13-14 KJV

The name of JESUS is the seal or stamp that when accompanied with prayer, assurance is guaranteed that such prayer ‘package’ would receive Jesus’ due attention, just as when a letter or package needs to be sent, an accompanying stamp is necessary for any hope of delivery. If someone calls out your name for instance, be it a strange or familiar voice, there’s this unrehearsed response towards the direction of the voice, whether by turning your head, answering back etc.

Have you ever thought of it that when you call on the name of JESUS in prayer, you actually get His attention?!

Noticed some trend on social media: people make out time to type prayers, then ‘seal or stamp’ it ‘IJN’. Could imagine Jesus going: “why are they writing some letters associated with their prayer…is that what I taught them in My Word- the Bible? Are they ashamed of Me?”

Yes, God knows our requests before we ask, but He still requires us to ask “in His name i.e. IN JESUS NAME”, not ‘IJN’, except though, if we intend for the prayer NOT to get Jesus’ due attention…And yes, you could have received answers to such prayer, but that was due to God’s mercy, which shouldn’t be taken for granted. In the days of ignorance, God overlooks but with knowledge comes responsibility (Acts 17:30).

Let’s not let the world deviate us from Kingdom ‘protocols’.
