“Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?” 2 Cor 13:5 NASB

Are you in-sync, off-course or catching-up in your relationship with God?

To be in-sync in your relationship with God entails being on par, enjoying a harmonious relationship with God and thriving in our walk with God.

To be off-course entails we have totally gone off-track in our relationship with God. This can be via disobedience to His Word and instructions, allowing sin and ungodly influences in our lives or simply refusing to do what we know is right to maintain our relationship with Him.

Catching-up here means we had previously reached a certain level with God but due to a variety of influences, we fell off, realized our mistakes, repented and are going back to doing what we had stopped doing that was beneficial, or removing things we have allowed in that negatively impacted our walk with God.

Our reference text encourages us to examine ourselves because honestly, being in this world for now, we could get caught up in so many activities that if we aren’t doggedly intentional, we’ll be anything but in-sync in our walk with God.

Please do an honest assessment of your state. Knowing the problem is part of finding the solution. If you’re off-course, please do whichever is applicable: Identify how you got to that point, repent, stop the sinful and ungodly things, start doing the godly ones, have someone who can hold you accountable and be sure to ask for God’s help.

If in-sync, seek God and device more strategies to keep the fire burning.

If catching-up, be encouraged that our God is a restorer and He can take you back and beyond the intimacy you once enjoyed with Him.

Whatever your state, be encouraged that God loves you and nothing can separate you from His love (Rom 8:37-39) 🤗❤️
